Who is/are Eighty Six?

Eighty Six is a Web Development & Consultancy agency based in Cape Town, South Africa. We are a dynamic agency with more than 10 years experience in Web Development and Design, SEO, Consulting, Outsourcing and Online Marketing sectors, to name but a few. This versatile and varied skill set has given us the ability to not only work with major players in the online world, but also given us the opportunity to find our focus areas on the internet and enhance and build on those areas. This varied skill set also enables us to offer our clients an entire package, all under one roof, from web development to online consultancy, hosting, copywriting, print media and even online marketing/advertising.

What is Eighty Six, and where did the name come from?

Eighty Six is the rebrand and official company of web developer, Byron Rode. Byron started out designing websites about 8 years ago when the Mozilla browser had just started making a name for itself. Over the years Byron freelanced to individuals, companies and friends, outsourced his skills to companies and learned about the internet and its infinite opportunities. Byron then jumped into the “corporate” online industry, working for a large organization where his technical skills were put to the test on a daily basis. After a couple of years of working “for the man”, Byron decided to stretch his wings and work in the ever-growing CMS template market, working for a well known and internationally successful, Joomla! templating company. While his work there was as fun as it was challenging and the knowledge he gained in the sector, priceless, Byron found that the “startup” type company did not suit him and decided it was time to go on his own again. And thus Eighty Six was born into fruition.

You refer to we, but this is a one man show, right?

Technically, yes, Eighty Six is owned and run by Byron Rode. However he does employ the skills of some amazing and talented people for most projects. These people, whom are respected in their various areas, have worked with Byron closely over the last few years and together they have formed a very great working environment and relationship. However due to the nature of the business and other projects, jobs or lifestyle’s taking precedence, they are not “officially” employed by Eighty Six.

Can I work for Eighty Six?
